Sune Luus’ 86-ball 58 that helped the Proteas Women post a winning total of 201-9 against the West Indies is our Play of the Day.
The 22-year-old all-rounder was key to the Proteas Women’s recovery after losing their star opener Lizelle Lee for a five-ball duck. Luus joined 19-year-old opener Laura Wolvaardt (45) and the pair battled their way through the difficult period to pile on 99 runs and take the visitors past the 100-run mark.
Luus was incredible, scoring her seventh half-century in ODIs, hitting five fours for her 58 to take the Proteas Women to 118 before becoming their third wicket.
This set the platform for the visitors as they finished on 201-9 and skittled the Windies for 161, Luus contributing with 1-19, to secure a 40-run victory.
This gave the Proteas Women the perfect start to their T20 World Cup preparations.
