Seven Proteas will light up the third edition of the Momentum eKasi Challenge which takes place at the Mamelodi Oval on Wednesday.
The Highveld Lions have won the first two editions so the Titans will want to start levelling the score in tomorrow’s encounter.
Rob Walter, the Titans head coach, said: ‘Once again it is great to be playing the eKasi Cup in Mamelodi, aside from it being our home turf, the way the teams were received the last time we were here and the energy with which the game was supported was awesome to be part of. As a team we want to continually grow the game in the emerging markets and give our fans something to cheer about and to that end we hope we can keep the trophy in Pretoria this year.’
Highveld Lions coach Geoffrey Toyana said his team is looking forward to defending their unbeaten run.
‘As a team, this reminds us that cricket is so much bigger than any of us and is a small way of promoting the game to new markets and ensuring that it continues to grow.’
Momentum’s sponsorship means that entrance on match day is free and everyone is welcome. Close to 1 000 school children, including those who are part of the life-skills outreach programme, will be attending the match.
Play starts at 9am (gates open at 09h00) and the match will be televised live on SS5.
