Proteas Women’s star batter Lizelle Lee has been voted the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for March, following her incredible tour of India.
Lee was at the heart of a very successful trip by the South Africans to the subcontinent where they sealed a 4-1 ODI series and 2-1 T20I series victory over the Indians.
The opener contributed an impressive century and two half-centuries in the four ODIs she played on tour, which helped her move to the top of the ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings.

‘I am happy and honoured to receive this award,’ Lee said upon acceptance.
‘Such accolades are a great way to keep me motivated and to continue to work even harder on my game. A big thank you to my teammates for their support as this would never have been possible without them.’
On the men’s side, Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for April award. Kumar was impressive in India’s white-ball wins over England during the month.
