Proteas Women match-winner Sune Luus was promoted up the order after the last-minute withdrawal of Stacy Lackay and she responded with a brilliant 63.
The Proteas bowlers did superbly to restrict England to 160-5 off their 20 overs, but there was still plenty of work for Lizelle Lee (68 off 37 balls) and Luus (63 not out off 52 balls) to do to win the match and keep their side in with a chance of making it to the final.
Entering the final over of the match, the Proteas still needed nine runs to win. Luus hit the first two balls from Katherine Brunt for four, before hammering a six off her third delivery to finish the match in style.
A delighted Luus chatted to reporters after the match after receiving the Player of the Match award (audio below).
