KwaZulu-Natal shattered Western Province’s second innings to set up a 10-wicket win, while North West’s tail wagged before inspired bowling by the Jansen twins delivered the knockout punch for a 100-run win over Free State on the final day of CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup action.
Daryn Dupavillon took 7-24 in the Western Province second innings as they collapsed to 120 all out, Dupavillon finishing with match figures of 10-64, his best career figures. KZN reached their target of 76 runs without losing a wicket in their second innings.
North West came from behind to knock the stuffing out of the Free State, Duan Jansen taking a stunning six wickets for just nine runs in only his second first-class match, while twin brother Marco took 3-12 in the second innings. Ruan Haasbroek’s undefeated 90 in North West’s second innings had given his bowlers a lifeline by setting Free State 192 for victory, which proved a bridge too far.
