The Titans managed to chase down the 173 runs needed for victory with 3.1 overs remaining of their Sunfoil Series clash against the Dolphins, to go to the top of the standings.
The Titans have now won three of their four games while the Dolphins have only won once, and key to their success has been the form of Heino Kuhn, who tops the runs charts in the tournament thanks to another brilliant display at the top of the order, posting 129 in the first innings, and a brisk 62 in the second.
The Dolphins started an exciting final day on 65-1, and thanks to Imraan Khan’s century, they would go on to post 255. With only 37 overs left in the day, the Titans needed to go at almost five runs an over to chase down the victory.
Kuhn and Grant Mokoena set the tone with a 50-run stand inside nine overs. Wickets fell fairly regularly from there, but they continued to go along at a rate of knots, with Kuhn’s 57-ball 62 being the stand-out knock once again. It allowed Heinrich Klaasen and Marchant de Lange to eventually chip away at the remaining runs required to seal the four-wicket victory.
It was the only Sunfoil match remaining, after the Highveld Lions and the Cape Cobras defeated the Knights and the Warriors respectively inside three days.
