Patrick Kruger struck a second successive hundred as the EP Warriors claimed a 109-run victory against the Northerns Titans in the One-Day Cup on Sunday.
The Warriors, whose first two matches of the tournament were rained out, beat the Central Gauteng Lions by four wickets at the Wanderers on Friday night, before thumping the Titans at St George’s Park two days later.
Kruger scored 135* off 90 balls against the Lions, and 109 off 106 against the Titans, before falling to Junior Dala (2-58) in the 47th over.
Tristan Stubbs also starred with the bat in Gqeberha, blasting 159 off 117 balls as the Warriors posted 316-7 in their 50 overs.
The Titans were then bowled out for 207 in 40.1 overs with Rivaldo Moonsamy and Donavan Ferreira scoring 42 runs each.
Renaldo Meyer (4-31) was the chief destroyer, with Beyers Swanepoel, Alfred Mothoa and Sean Whitehead taking two wickets each.
Meanwhile, in Pietermaritzburg, the North West Dragons secured a 20-run win (DLS method) against the KZN Inland Tuskers.
After being asked to bat first, the Dragons scored 289-9 in their 50 overs thanks to opener Lesego Senokwane’s run-a-ball 109 and Raynard van Tonder’s 73 off 88 deliveries.
Mbulelo Budaza finished with bowling figures of 3-53 while Michael Erlank and Alindile Mhletywa picked up two scalps each.
The Tuskers were 127-3 in the 29th over, with Kagiso Rapulana 59* and Pite van Biljon 19* when the rain began to fall, and the players never got back onto the field.
In Division 2, the Free State Knights beat the Eastern Cape Iinyathi by five wickets in Bloemfontein and the Eastern Storm recorded a six-wicket win against the Mpumalanga Rhinos in Benoni.
