Kevin Pietersen’s outburst on Twitter has caused an outcry on social media.
The South African-born ex-England star came out on Twitter, slamming Maritzburg College students for airing their political views while in school uniform.
Ummmmm, @MaritzCollege – WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? Total disrespect for a once GREAT school! Are you joking?!?! ???????????? pic.twitter.com/butIykGaRh

His comments caused a stir, with some Twitter users going as far as calling the 37-year-old a racist.
Maritzburg College’s Twitter account responded, asking that the cricketer delete the tweet.
We are aware of it and it is certainly not acceptable to us at all, the school tweeted.
The tweet has since been deleted.
Maritzburg College, Pietersen’s alma mater, responded by announcing the possible suspension of the students, to which EFF leader Julius Malema responded with a Tweet of his own.
I’m told @MaritzCollege is threatening to suspend these fighters for expressing their political views, we are ready for them. KZN be ready pic.twitter.com/tGDGCtuSho
