Former Proteas star all-rounder Lance Klusener will replace Daniel Vettori as head coach of the Rajshahi Kings.
The former New Zealand spinner has taken up an option to coach the Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League in Australia. Klusener will take over as the Kings coach for their fixtures in the Bangladesh Premier League, which starts on 5 January and will finish mid-February.
‘Vettori signed the contract with Rajshahi Kings on the condition that he would not be available if the timing of the BPL coincided with Big Bash League, as his involvement with his Big Bash team was with a long-term contract,’ said Tahmeed Huq, CEO of the Kings.
This will be Klusener’s first job coaching in Bangladesh, after recently being appointed to coach Delhi in the Indian domestic season.
