Rory Kleinveldt’s five-for on day two of Northamptonshire’s County Championship clash against Sussex helped the hosts set up a six-wicket win on Friday.
Kelinveldt was crucial to his side’s victory after Northants set a first innings total of 426. The Cobras all-rounder took 5-50 in Sussex’s first innings on day two to skittle the visitors for 172, enforcing the follow-on.
He followed his red-hot form into Sussex’s second innings, ending with 1-11, as the visitors ended day two on 34-1.
Kleinveldt was back on day three as he took two wickets to end with figures 3-48. Sussex took the game to the final day, ending on 382-9 with David Wiese (61) and Jofra Archer’s (81) half-centuries saving their side from a humiliating third-day defeat.
Sussex added only 11 runs to their total on day four, as Richard Levi’s 54 helped his side finish on 140-4 and claim a six-wicket win for Northants.
