Captain Rory Kleinveldt is eager to capitalise on a winning start to the CSA T20 Challenge when the Cape Cobras clash with the Titans at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Wednesday.
The Cobras beat the Lions at the Wanderers in Johannesburg last week, after Kleinveldt and fellow seamer Dane Paterson shared six key wickets. Friday, meanwhile, will bring another clash against the Warriors at Boland Park.
‘Winning the first two games will put us in an excellent position. It’s always good to win away from home,’ said Kleinveldt.
‘We’d now like to carry this momentum to Benoni and then take it with us back home when we play the next game after that one in Paarl. Hopefully we can continue where we left off against the Lions.’
Sunday will bring the Dolphins to Newlands – and the Knights 48 hours later.
‘We have to try and improve on our home form. We struggled a bit in the One-Day Cup at home. Hopefully we can turn that around in the T20 competition,’ added Kleinveldt.
Proteas cricketers Hashim Amla, Janneman Malan and Vernon Philander have been named in the Cobras squad.
