Rory Kleinveldt stars on day one for Northamptonshire, as we update you on SAFFAS abroad in the County Championship.
Essex vs Lancashire (Division one)
Dane Vilas, in his first game for his County side, starred with the bat for Lancashire on day one, scoring 74 to end as top scorer for his side as they posted 319 in their first innings.
Simon Harmer took 1-59 for Essex as Lancashire were reduced to 39-2 at stumps on day one.
Kent vs Gloucestershire (Division two)
Pretoria-born all-rounder Graeme van Buuren, who signed a two-year contract in April 2016 with Gloucestershire, took 2-28 to help restrict Kent to 298 on day one.
Nottinghamshire vs Leicestershire (Division two)
Leicester was bowled out for 251, with Colin Ackermann only posting 7.
Northamptonshire vs Glamorgan (Division two)
Rory Kleinveldt starred with bat and ball for Northamptonshire, taking 3-35 and remaining unbeaten on 71 at stumps on day one.
His three-for helped bowl out Glamorgan for 101. Jacques Rudolf and Colin Ingram posted 9 and 20 respectively.
In return, Kleinveldt smashed a 23-ball half-century, and Richard Levi’s 38 off 38 deliveries helped their side to 268-6 at stumps on day one.
Marchant de Lange, in his first match for his County side, ended day one on 1-62 for Glamorgan.
Yorkshire vs Hampshire (Division one)
Kyle Abbott, on his debut, took 2-64 for Hampshire, along with SACS old boy Gareth Berg (2-50) to help reduce Yorkshire to 273 in their first innings.
Hampshire’s reply was weak as their top order collapsed, finding themselves on 58-5 at stumps on day one. Rilee Rossouw, in his debut innings for his County side, top-scored on day one for his side, but only managed 23.
