In a light-hearted interview with ICC Cricket 360 ahead of the three-match ODI series against Australia, Kagiso Rabada was put on the spot by the interviewer and asked to rate his teammates for their off-the-field activities and behaviour.
‘The funniest guy in the change room? Hashim Amla is always stirring the pot, all the time. Always has a joke in him, even if he’s just gone out. He’s always making jokes,’ smiled Rabada, who was also asked to reveal which players make the most effort when it comes to looking sharp.
‘The people who are interested in their fashion would be Andile Phehlukwayo, Faf du Plessis and it would be probably Reeza Hendricks.
‘The person with no fashion sense … I’ll give it to Quinton de Kock.’
Perhaps feeling the pressure of having lampooned his mates, when it came to the category of Worst Haircut, Rabada turned the spotlight on himself.
‘I can’t say who’s got the worst haircut … maybe it’s me,’ he laughed.
KG went outside the playing squad to award physio Craig Govender with the honour of Best Taste in Music.
‘He always plays the tune, and he plays a variety, so I’ll give it to Craig,’ revealed Rabada.
The No2 ranked Test bowler in the world, Rabada came close to pinning the Fittest Player award on himself before admitted that he was only the second fittest player in the squad, giving the nod to fellow paceman Junior Dala.
‘Junior Dala right now takes it,’ he conceded.
