South Africa’s Jacques Kallis is among several former cricketers set to play in the Road Safety World Series – a new T20 tournament – in India next year.
India’s Sachin Tendulkar, the West Indies’ Brian Lara, Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan and Australia’s Brett Lee will reportedly be among the participants, too.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the inaugural tournament will be played in February 2020 in Mumbai. The team names are India Legends, Australia Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends and West Indies Legends.

Kallis’ playing career was followed by a lengthy coaching stint at the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. That tenure ended earlier this year.
He played for the Knight Riders for several seasons before succeeding Englishman Trevor Bayliss as coach in 2015.
‘After nine fantastic years with KKR since 2011, as a player, mentor and head coach, it’s time to explore new opportunities,’ said Kallis.
‘I would to like to thank the owners, management and fellow players for many happy memories.’
Kolkata won 32 of 61 matches during Kallis’ tenure as coach and qualified for three consecutive playoffs in 2016, 2017 and 2018. They finished in fifth position in 2019, though.
Kallis turned 44 years old on Wednesday.
