Former Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson does not believe that Steve Smith and David Warner’s bans should be lifted.
Australia have endured a difficult period. Not only have they been in the spotlight after the ‘Sandpaper Gate’ that took place in Cape Town in March, but they have also been struggling to find wins on the field.
Their recent loss came to the Proteas, who completed their first ODI series win Down Under in a decade.
Some members of the media have suggested that the bans that Warner and Smith received was harsh and should be lifted or reduced.
There has however been a strong disagreement from some former players.
More recently, Johnson took to Twitter in response to an article written by Daily Telegraph Journalist Ben Horne.
I thought 3 players were banned ?So does that mean Cameron Bancroft’s ban will be reduced to the same amount as Smith & Warner if it goes ahead? They all accepted their bans & didn’t contest it so I think the bans should stay https://t.co/9IoCfjl3P5
