The 2021 IPL is set to commence in the UAE in September after it was initially postponed in April due to the rapid rise of Covid-19 cases in India.

The Times of India reports that three weeks will be set aside to accommodate the remaining matches.

The UAE hosted last year’s edition of the IPL and will again serve as alternative hosts to ensure a safe playing environment for all players and staff.

India’s tour to England will also not clash with the IPL, with the final Test match between the two countries set to conclude in September.
