JP Duminy asks his teammates where their favourite grounds are, at home and abroad.
Wayne Parnell
SA: ‘The atmosphere created by the band at St George’s Park makes it unique, and a great ground, but the sheer beauty of Newlands makes it my favourite.’
ABROAD: ‘The Waca in Perth. It’s where I made my Proteas ODI debut, so I have fond memories of the place.’
Beuran Hendricks
SA: ‘Definitely Newlands. The atmosphere and scenery are amazing, and having your home crowd behind you in a crunch game really gets the juices flowing.’
ABROAD: ‘The SCG stands out for me. It’s one of the grounds I visited when I was in Australia and it has an amazing history.’
Dean Elgar
SA: ‘Newlands and St George’s Park. Both grounds always get good crowds and the people from Cape Town and PE enjoy supporting their local cricket, so it’s great to be a part of games there.’
ABROAD: ‘Lord’s definitely stands out. It has huge significance in cricketing history, but most importantly, they serve the best lunches you will ever have! Everybody who plays there looks forward to them.’
Simon Harmer
SA: ‘St George’s Park because of the vibe of the band. There is no better feeling than having the crowd behind you and shouting out your name.’
ABROAD: ‘I haven’t played at any international venues outside South Africa but the Boxing Day Test at the MCG is definitely on my bucket list.’
