Ishan Kishan scored 72* as the Mumbai Indians smashed the Delhi Capitals by nine wickets.
Proteas’ opener, Quinton de Lock (26), was uncharacteristically measured in his approach, anchoring the innings as the Capitals solidified their lead at the top of the table by chasing down 111 for victory.
De Kock was ably assisted by Kishan, who played fluently, smashing eight fours and three sixes.
The modest score was in large part due to the excellence of Indians seamers Trent Boult (4-21-3) and Jasprit Bumrah (4-17-3). Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant were the pick of the Capitals’ batters, scoring 25 and 21, respectively.
The Capitals bowlers, which included the Saffa pair of Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje, couldn’t replicate that impact, allowing the log leaders to ease to victory.
