The remainder of the T20I series between India and England will go ahead without any spectators after a recent rise in Covid-19 cases in Gujarat.
Spectators were allowed to attend the final three Test matches and opening two T20Is between the two nations.
This past Sunday’s clash in Ahmedabad had a total crowd of 66,352 watching India beat England.
‘The decision was arrived at following detailed discussions with the state and local health authorities,’ the BCCI said in a statement.
‘The BCCI will continue to comply with all the regulations put in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus and will always put the health and safety of its fans and stakeholders at the top.’
The third clash will take place on Tuesday.
