Australia A scored 292 in their second innings to set India A 262 to win the first unofficial Test in Bengaluru.
Travis Head provided the backbone of the Australian innings, scoring 87 off 162 balls (13 fours). Head shared a valuable partnership of 81 for the second wicket with first-innings centurion Usman Khawaja (40), while South African-born Marnus Labuschagne scored 37 in the middle order as the Australian tail helped to lift their side to the highest score of the ‘Test’.
Mohammed Siraj picked up 3-77 in the innings to complete his 10-wicket haul in the match, following his incredible first-innings figures of 8-59.
India lost opener Abhimanyu Easwaran for a seven-ball duck, followed by the key wicket of skipper Shreyas Iyer, who blasted 28 off just 21 (two fours, three sixes) shortly before the close. India ended the day 63-2 after 20 overs, still needing 199 runs to win on the final day.
