After rain delayed the start of play on day one of the fourth Test between South Africa and England the action eventually got under way at the Wanderers, with Joe Root winning the toss and deciding to bat first.
Openers Zak Crawly and Dom Sibley put on a 100-run stand for the first wicket before debutant Beuran Hendricks picked up his first Test wicket by dismissing Sibley.
Further wickets by Vernon Philander, Dane Paterson and Anrich Nortje had the visitors finishing the day on 192-4.
