Aiden Markram has been replaced by Reeza Hendricks as Sri Lanka elected to bowl first in the third ODI against the Proteas in Kandy.
For the third time in the ODI series, Angelo Mathews has won the toss. The hosts elected to bat first in the opening two ODIs, but lost convincingly by five wickets and four wickets, respectively.
They have changed it up for the third ODI in the hope that they can break their 10-match losing streak against the Proteas that dates back to 2014.

Sri Lanka’s record at home has also been abysmal. They lost nine home matches on the trot. They also lost eight series and drew one out of their last 10 bilateral ODI series.

The Proteas have opted to leave out Aiden Markram for Reeza Hendricks. Faf du Plessis said at the toss that Markram has been given a rest because the tour has been tough on him.
Sri Lanka brought in Dhananjaya de Silva for Shehan Jayasuriya. Lahiru Kumara, meanwhile, comes in for Kasun Rajitha.
The dry pitch and short boundary should make batting easy for the Proteas, as they look to post a formidable total in their innings.
