Dominic Hendricks scored 130 to give the Lions the upper hand at the close of day three against the Cobras.
Hendricks, who was unbeaten on 88 overnight, kicked on, scoring his runs off 323 deliveries. Temba Bavuma chipped in with 32 and Malusi Siboto got 42 down the innings. Cobras seamer Nandre Burger took 4-101.
At the close of play all three Proteas batsman – Pieter Malan, Janneman Malan and Zubayr Hamza – were out and the Cobras were reeling at 54-3, still 155 runs behind.
In Port Elizabeth, the Titans are in control against the Warriors. Heinrich Klaasen got 68, while Sibonelo Makhanya scored 58 to set up a total of 293.
At stumps, the Warriors were struggling at 97-6, just 35 runs ahead. Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi did the damage, taking 5-19.
Pite van Biljon’s 93 gave the Knights a commanding first-innings lead against the Dolphins in Bloemfontein. The Dolphins started poorly, losing their first wicket for just four runs, but rebuilt until kingpin Keegan Petersen fell for 48.
Sarel Erwee (58*) and Marques Ackerman (32*) are at the crease, with the Dolphins on 138-2 and still needing 319 runs to win.
