International marquee player Jason Roy is enjoying this season’s stint with the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants, who have relished a successful start to the second edition of the Mzansi Super League.
Roy was with the Giants briefly for 2018’s inaugural edition. He is available to them for the entirety of this year’s tournament.

‘We’ve bowled extremely well, adapted to conditions and put on a couple of good performances with the bat. But it is only the start of the tournament and we’ve still got a little bit to go,’ said Roy.
‘We’re working extremely hard as unit. We’re getting to know each other pretty well and the chemistry is extremely good.
‘I think as a whole and as a squad we’re very excited for the rest of the tournament. It’s a good start and hopefully it continues.’
The Giants currently occupy second position in the six-team standings. The Cape Town Blitz, who lost last year’s final to the Jozi Stars, are at the top of the table. The Blitz and Giants will clash at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday.
‘It’s obviously good to have a good start, but it’s early days and the tournament still has a long way to go. It’s nice to have had a good start, to get two wins under the belt and then the bonus point just adds to that,’ added Giants head coach Eric Simons.
