Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has called on the ICC to look into new rules and ways that favour bowlers more in limited-overs cricket.
Gambhir posted a Tweet on Friday after England easily chased down India’s total of 337 in the second ODI in Pune.
The left-armer said that, currently, the game is too much in favour of the batsmen and that the ICC should relook the circle rule, while also suggesting a second new-ball should be introduced.
‘The rules of the game seem so lopsided in favour of batsmen that bowlers seem redundant,”‘also rans”. @ICC urgently needs to relook at the circle rule, two new balls and bouncer restrictions. Otherwise bowlers will be reduced to programmed bowling machines @bcci.’

India posted 300+ scores in both ODIs so far this series but England were explosive in their chase during Friday’s game as the Indian bowlers had no answers to them.
The third and final clash will take place on Sunday.
