The explosive Dolphins all-rounder Robbie Frylinck – who has played three T20I’s for the Proteas – was at his destructive best with both bat and ball in the BPL and registered today’s Play of the Day, writes ANITHA MADIKIZELA.
Frylinck was the star of the show for his Bangladesh Premier League team, the Chittagong Vikings, picking up a brilliant 3-26 as the Sylhet Sixers scored 168-5 batting first. Frylinck then racked up a sensational 44 not out during the chase in Dhaka.
Frylinck ripped through Sylhet’s top order by dismissing Bangladeshi internationals Liton Das and Sabbir Rahman as well as Sixers’ skipper – and former Australian vice-captain – David Warner.
He then came to the crease in the second innings with the Vikings on 94-5 after 13 overs – still a long way away from their target of 169 to win. Frylinck unleashed a blistering unbeaten 44 off 24 balls, including one four and four mammoth sixes, in the death overs.
The South African pulled out all the stops but unfortunately couldn’t carry his team over the line as they lost to the Sylhet Sixers by just five runs in a nail-biting encounter.

Frylinck and the Vikings will be keen to get back to winning ways when they take on the Khulna Titans on Friday as they look to improve on their current third position on the log.
