New Lions seamer Tladi Bokako turned 27 years old on Tuesday, 21 April 2020.
Three franchises later
- Bokako’s franchise career started at the Warriors, followed by a move to the Cape Cobras and more recently the Lions. He’ll benefit plenty from working alongside from Proteas seamers Sisanda Magala and Lutho Sipamla, who have left the Warriors for the Lions.
Time at the Durban Heat
- Bokako played six matches for the Heat in the 2018 Mzansi Super League. He took three wickets at an average of over 60 and economy rate just short of 10. The Durban franchise released him and no other franchise picked him for the 2019 MSL.

South Africa Emerging stint
- He starred alongside Victoria Cricket Club teammate Nandre Burger for South Africa Emerging against Sri Lanka Emerging in Potchefstroom in mid-2019. They shared six key wickets to ensure an early series lead for the hosts.
First-class best
- Bokako’s career-best first-class figures came two months ago, for Western Province against Eastern Province in the CSA 3-Day Provincial Cup at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. A third-innings haul of 6-12 consigned his former team to heavy defeat. Bokako hasn’t yet taken a five-wicket haul at franchise level.
