Another win in the IPL for Faf du Plessis and Imran Tahir has kept the Chennai Super Kings at the top of the standings.
Despite underwhelming performances by the standards of the Proteas duo – Du Plessis was controversially run out for one, and Tahir finished with 0-39 – the Chennai Super Kings racked up their eighth victory of the campaign.
The win has seen CSK top the IPL standings by two points, picking up 16 points in 11 games. This puts the defending champs in the driving seat to confirm a home playoff spot.

The South African pair have been star players for CSK this season. Tahir sits second on the wicket-takers list with 16 scalps, while Du Plessis has scored 179 runs including one half-century, holding his spot in the side despite warming the bench for the first four matches.
Tahir, however, hasn’t missed a match and went wicketless for only the third time in 11 games. There is no doubt that the Proteas legend has been an MVP for the Chennai side.

It was Australian veteran Shane Watson who starred in CSK’s victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday. He hit 96 off 53 balls in their chase of 176.
