The bookmakers have given New Zealand little hope of going one step better than their 2015 run as they prepare to face hosts England in the World Cup final.
The Kiwis, who beat South Africa to advance to the trophy match four years ago before losing to Australia, are priced at 2.5-1 to lift their first World Cup trophy.
That compares rather unfavourably to England listed at 0.33-1.
Neither side has won the event before but the Black Caps at least have recent experience playing in the showpiece match with England making their first appearance in 27 years – they beat the Proteas in 1992 in a dubious Duckworth Lewis-method defined result.
Both teams have plenty of firepower with bat and ball which means the result may just hinge on who wins the toss with early cloudy conditions expected to burn off and present a sunny afternoon and evening.
