    Faf du Plessis’ decision to introduce Dean Elgar, who picked up the wicket of Australia captain Steve Smith, is our Play of the Day.

    Smith was proving to be a nuisance for the South African bowlers, and Du Plessis’ decision to bring Elgar to the attack paid off immediately.

    The Australia skipper was trapped lbw by the part-time spinner, and inspired the South African fightback that saw them pegging the visitors back to 213-9 by the end of the day’s play.
