Dean Elgar struck 131 for his county side Somerset against Sussex in a One Day Cup match on Sunday.
The Proteas Test opening batsman scored 131 off 127 balls (ten fours, four sixes) as he rescued a stuttering Somerset start that saw them teetering at 120-4 after 27 overs.
Elgar salvaged the innings as he shared in a 151-run partnership with Adam Hose (76) to lift the visitors to 303-5 in 49 overs.
Somerset proceeded to restrict the hosts Sussex to 155-9 and win the rain-affected One Day Cup match by nine runs by D/L method.
This caps a remarkable couple of days for Elgar as he shared in a 213-run partnership with countryman Roelof Van Der Merwe in which he added 68 while Van Der Merwe smashed 165 against Surrey on Friday.
Following the victory Somerset now sit atop the South standings with four points after two matches.
