South Africa have won the toss and elected to bowl in the World Cup match against Sri Lanka at Chester-le-Street.
The Proteas have nothing but pride to play for in their remaining two matches. The recent loss to Pakistan dashed their slim hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.
Skipper Faf du Plessis said at the toss that he hopes to make best use of the fresh pitch.
‘We believe that there should be some seam movement, and that’s influenced our selections in terms of our attack,’ said Du Plessis.
JP Duminy comes into the side for David Miller. The latter has been ruled out with an injury.
All-rounder Dwaine Pretorius replaces Lungi Ngidi.
