JP Duminy is set to replace Justin Sammons as the Proteas’ batting coach.
According to IOL Sport, the 38-year-old former Proteas batsman has left his role as head coach of the Boland Rocks to join the national team.
Duminy recently coached the Paarl Royals to the SA20 semi-finals.
The Proteas batting has been a big concern for some time, with the Test team having reached 200 just once in their last nine matches.
CSA has already announced the departure of bowling coach Charl Langeveldt following the appointments of Shukri Conrad as Test head coach and Rob Walter as head coach of the limited-overs sides.
