• Dragons defeat Knights in thriller

The North West Dragons claimed a thrilling three-run victory over the Free State Knights in their T20 Challenge clash in Bloemfontein on Saturday.

After opting to bat, the Dragons posted 144-4 following a rain delay, which saw the game reduced to 18 overs per side, with the Knights’ target revised to 150.

Dragons captain Wihan Lubbe led from the front with 58 off 40 balls, and he was ably supported by Janneman Malan (40) and Lesiba Ngoepe (32*).

Dian Forrester and Malusi Siboto each took two wickets for the Knights.

In the hosts’ chase, Forrester struck an unbeaten 46*, with notable contributions from former Dragon Lesego Senokwane (39) and Patrick Botha (21).

Duan Jansen claimed three key wickets, while Migael Pretorius executed two crucial runouts.

Kerwin Mungroo’s superb penultimate over, in which he gave away just one run and took a wicket, proved decisive.
