The KZN Dolphins beat the WP Blitz by 65 runs at St George’s Park on Wednesday to book their spot in the T20 Challenge semi-finals.
The result ensures the Dolphins will finish fourth on the log, ahead of the EP Warriors, while denying Western Province top spot.
The No 1-ranked Northerns Titans will therefore take on the Dolphins in the semi-finals on Friday, with WP up against the Boland Rocks.
The Dolphins posted 148-5 thanks to Khaya Zondo’s unbeaten 59 off 51 balls and useful contributions from Ruan de Swardt (22 off 23), Bryce Parsons (28 off 22) and Andile Phehlukwayo (25* off 10, including two sixes).
WP spinners George Linde and Aviwe Mgijima, who both opened the bowling, each took two wickets.
In response, Province collapsed to 83 all out in 15.4 overs, with Parsons taking 3-22.
Prenelan Subrayen, Ottniel Baartman and Phehlukwayo picked up two wickets apiece.
