The KZN Dolphins beat the EP Warriors by 20 runs in their T20 Challenge match at St George’s Park on Saturday.
The Dolphins posted 211-5 thanks to half-centuries from David Miller (58 off 26 balls) and Grant Roelofsen (50 off 30). Miller hit six sixes and Roelofsen two.
Bryce Parsons scored a useful 39 off 31 balls at the top of the order while Andile Phehlukwayo finished unbeaten on 28 off 16 after coming in at No 6.
Jon-Jon Smuts took 1-22 in four overs, but the rest of the Warriors bowlers were battered.
In reply, the hosts looked dead and buried at 86-5 before Tristan Stubbs started smashing the ball to all parts of the ground.
His unbeaten 80 from just 31 deliveries included three fours and eight sixes. However, it wasn’t enough to clinch victory for his side, who ended on 191-6.
Jason Smith took 3-24 in his two overs for the Dolphins.
