The KZN Dolphins beat the Boland Rocks by 20 runs in the second T20 Challenge semi-final in Potchefstroom on Wednesday.
The Dolphins will meet the Titans, who beat the Free State Knights by 38 runs earlier in the day, in Sunday’s final at the same venue (2:30pm).
The Rocks won the toss and put the Dolphins into bat.
Grant Roelofsen (26 off 30) and Keegan Petersen (25 off 19) got the KwaZulu-Natalians off to a solid start before Bamanye Xenxe (4-34 in 3.4 overs) and Shaun von Berg (3-22 in four) struck for Boland.
Xenxe’s haul included the wickets of Petersen, Jon Jon Smuts (six), Eathan Bosch (seven) and Prenelan Subrayen (22), while Von Berg sent Roelofsen, Tshepang Dithole (four) and Andile Simelane (nought) packing.
A clinical Dolphins’ bowling unit then restricted the Rocks to 126-8, with Subrayen taking 3-18 in four overs, including the big wicket of Janneman Malan (37 off 39 balls), and Smuts 2-17 in four.
Farhaan Behardien was left unbeaten on 31 off 32 balls.
