Cameron Delport hit a 31-ball 64 to revive the Dhaka Dynamites’ title defence with a 65-run victory against Khulna Titans at Sylhet on Sunday.
It was one of two half-centuries for the Dynamites, who posted 202-7 in their first innings, highlighted by a 116-run partnership between Delport and Evin Lewis (66 off 40 balls) before the latter lost his wicket.
Delport smashed four fours and five sixes, and then lost his scalp to Abu Jayed shortly after the Dynamites passed the 150-run mark.
The Titans could only manage 137 runs in their chase, falling 65 runs short of victory.
Delport, who was snubbed by the Global T20 league franchises, signed as an overseas player for the 2017 Bangladesh Premier League. His domestic side, the Dolphins, get their CSA T20 challenge campaign under way on Sunday against the Cobras – the tournament which was pushed forward to replace the inaugural Global T20 League.
