Quinton de Kock has pulled out of the third Test against England after sustaining a knee injury on Wednesday evening.
Dane Vilas has been called up to replace De Kock and is on his way from Port Elizabeth to Johannesburg where he was due to play in the Sunfoil Series for the Cape Cobras.
AB de Villiers will take the gloves if South Africa field first at the Wanderers until Vilas arrives.
De Kock slipped and sprained his knee at home yesterday afternoon. He initially thought it wasn’t serious but woke up after midnight in pain. He will go for a scan to determine the extent of the injury.
