Captain Quinton de Kock has attempted to quieten suggestion the Cape Town Blitz will win the 2019 Mzansi Super League.
The Blitz lost last year’s inaugural final to the Jozi Stars. The defending champions have since suffered four consecutive defeats and are at the bottom of the 2019 tournament’s six-team standings. The Cape Town franchise, meanwhile, are at the top. They’ve won three matches and lost one.

‘We’re not really worried about what people are saying. They can talk about favourites and not favourites. So be it. We’re just here to play the game of cricket,’ said De Kock.
‘That’s what we’re really enjoying at the moment and we’ll hope to continue doing that in the next game.
‘We’re just going to focus on ourselves, taking it game by game. We’re just going to try and stick to the processes and not worry about the end result or anything that’s going on around us. I think if we can focus on the process, everything else will look after itself.’
The Blitz will meet the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants at St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. The Giants currently occupy second position on the log. The Tshwane Spartans, Paarl Rocks and Durban Heat are placed third, fourth and fifth, respectively.
