Quinton de Kock says he “just let go” after scoring his second IPL century.
The Proteas batsman smashed an unbeaten 140 off 70 balls, including 10 sixes, as the Lucknow Super Giants posted 210-0 – the IPL’s highest-ever opening stand – against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday.
Lucknow then restricted their opponents to 208-8, with the two-run win securing the new IPL franchise a spot in the playoffs.

“I don’t know what happened,” said De Kock of his century celebration during a chat with captain KL Rahul, who made 68* off 51 balls.
“I thought I would just keep to the side and keep my emotions. But I just let go. I couldn’t control it, it was just relief, I guess.
“It was a bit of frustration that came out,” he added. “Felt really good to come out and do well and I was trying to keep it in, but when it came out, it felt good.”
