• De Kock clicks in Indians’ comfortable win

Quiton de Kock finally found some form, smashing 67 from 39 deliveries as the Mumbai Indians beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 34 runs.

The Proteas’ opener had scored just 48 runs in his four innings leading into this match, 33 of those runs coming in the opening match. However, he arrested that slide with an excellent innings which featured four fours and an equal number of sixes, contributing to a team total of 208/5.

Suryakumar Yadav (27 off 18), Ishan Kishan (31 off 23), Hardik Pandaya (28 off 19) and Kieron Pollard (25* off 13) all contributed to setting a challenging target.

Outside of a strong second-wicket partnership between David Warner (60 off 44) and Manish Pandey (30 off 19), the Sunrisers never looked like coming close to reaching the target. This was in large part due to the foreign trifecta of Trent Boult (2-28), James Pattinson (2-29) and Pollard (0-20) conceding a combined total of just 77 runs in 11 overs to strangle the Sunriser into submission.
