• De Bruyn steers Titans past Lions

    Captain Theunis de Bruyn scored 63* off 51 balls as the Northerns Titans beat the Central Gauteng Lions at St George’s Park on Thursday.

    De Bruyn received good support from fellow opener Quinton de Kock (22 off 11 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen (44* off 33) as they reached the target of 149 with 11 balls remaining.

    Dewald Brevis made just seven after coming in at No 3 in a rare failure for the SA U19 star.

    The Lions earlier posted 148-6 thanks to Reeza Hendricks’ 41 off 37 balls and 33* off 18 by Sisanda Magala.

    Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi took 2-25 in his four overs.
