Junior Dala is a bowler to watch for the One Day Cup final between the Titans and the Warriors in Centurion on Friday.
The 27-year-old has been a vital part of the Titans’ successful campaign, picking up scalps in all eight matches that he has played for his side. His stand-out performance came against the Dolphins in Kingsmead, where he took 3-26, which essentially placed them a point closer to their opponents in first.
He helped guarantee his side a home final when he took 2-26 against the Warriors, as the Titans beat the Eastern Cape side by seven wickets with 131 balls remaining.
This was also a milestone season for Dala, who picked up career-best List A figures of 3-21 in the Jukskei derby, which saw his side emerge victorious by 109 runs over the Lions.
The Zambian-born paceman is known for his skiddy deliveries and his surprise bouncer, which he produces despite his short stature. He will form part of a four-man seam attack which includes Chris Morris, Lungi Ngidi and Malusi Siboto.
