Pat Cummins’ ball to dismiss the dangerous AB de Villiers after tea on day one at Newlands is our Play of the Day.
With De Villiers and Dean Elgar in the middle, South Africa were looking good and a big first innings’ total was on the cards, but it all changed when Cummins rejoined the attack.
Cummins stunned Newlands into silence when he bowled a full ball to De Villiers. The South Africa batsman went on the front foot, went through the shot too soon and was easily caught by David Warner at mid-on.
The wicket changed the complexion of the game and led to the home side losing a further five wickets for just 37 runs. Cummins picked up a further three scalps as South Africa found themselves in trouble.
