Faf du Plessis top-scored with 33 from only 17 deliveries as the Chennai Super Kings beat the Rajasthan Royals by 45 runs in Mumbai on Monday.
Du Plessis kickstarted CSK’s innings with a quick-fired knock but was undone by countryman Chris Morris, who did the damage with the ball.
Moeen Ali added 26, Ambati Rayudu made 27 and Dwayne Bravo smashed 20 off eight balls as CSK posted 188-9 in their 2o overs.

In reply, the Royals’ run chase crumbled after the fall of Jos Buttler, who made 49 at the top of the order. Spinners Ravi Jadeja and Ali were the chief destroyers and ripped through the Royals’ batting lineup with David Miller managing only two, while Morris departed for a duck.
Jadeja claimed 2-28, while Ali bagged 3-7 as the Royals posted 143-9 in their innings.
