CSA is being sued for approximately R7-million by a former T20 Global League franchise owner, according to reports.
According to the TimesLive, Hiren Bhanu, who owned the Pretoria Mavericks, will be suing CSA after the publication reportedly saw legal documents showing Bhanu’s claim of $515‚627.91. The total amount takes into account the fact that he has been refunded his deposit of $250‚000 that all previous owners received after the postponement of last year’s tournament.
Bhanu claims to have spent $68‚538.68 on legal bills‚ $74‚688.83 on ‘consulting fees’‚ $81‚247.76 on marketing‚ and $107‚216.81 on salaries and wages. His total claim‚ $515‚627.91 converts to R7.3-million.
When asked to comment, CSA said they were unaware of the lawsuit.
‘We’re not aware of his decision to sue us‚’ a spokesperson said on Saturday. ‘Once something official comes our way we’ll then be able to make a comment.’
