Leicestershire captain Colin Ackermann’s impressive all-round performance was crucial in a big win over Gloucestershire. He scored 57 in the first innings and then went on to pick up three wickets in each innings. Leicestershire won by an inning and 93 runs.
David Bedingham’s 127 set up a 10-wicket win for Durham over Worcestshire. His third century of the season helped him get over a brief mid-season stutter and he now leads the County Championship for runs scored, 787, he’s 13 ahead of Jacon Libby in second place.
Stiaan van Zyl’s indifferent season continued, he scored 15 in Sussex’ first innings and got a duck in the second against Yorkshire. Simon Harmer picked up 4/71 in the first innings for Essex and made 20 when he got the chance to bat.
Proteas opener Pieter Malan’s got a pair (0 & 0) for Warwickshire in what has been a challenging season for him so far. Another South African, Michael Cohen (5/43), got a five-wicket haul in the second innings of that match for Derbyshire.
Ricardo Vasconcelos scored 66 for Northamptonshire against Kent but could only manage nine in the second innings. Lancashire skipper Dane Vilas scored 12 in both innings against Glamorgan.
Over in Taunton, Roelof van der Merwe scored 88 for Somerset in the first innings against Hampshire. Teammate Marchant de Lange picked up two wickets in the first innings. For Hampshire, Kyle Abbott got a wicket in each innings.
