Stephen Cook scored 60 as he helped Durham to a 72-run victory over Warwickshire in the One Day Cup.
After their first match of the campaign was washed out against Derbyshire, Durham have got themselves on the board largely thanks to the foundations set by their openers. Cook scored 18 in that rained-out match, but followed it up with 60 at Edgbaston, in what was a 129-run stand with Jennings in another rain-affected match.
With just 39 overs to work with, Jennings, the former SA U19 skipper and current Durham captain, blasted a career-best 139 off just 101 balls to get his side to 313-5. That proved too much for Warwickshire, who were bowled out 241 in the final over.
In Monday’s other clash, Yorkshire beat Lancashire by 79 runs to make it two wins out of two. Ryan McLaren was Lancs’ best bowler with 3-43 from eight overs, but Yorkshire were still able to get 296-9, before Lancs were bowled out for 217, with McLaren scoring 16 off 22 balls.
