The Central Gauteng Lions U19A side has been announced for the U19 Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week to be held in Cape Town from 16-20 December 2018, writes THEO GARRUN.
SA U19 player Jacob Miltz will captain the Central Gauteng Lions U19 team that will play in the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola Week in Cape Town in December.
There are three St David’s players in the team that was announced on Sunday, and three from St Stithians. Jeppe and KES will each supply two players in a side dominated by players from the boys’ schools.
Jarred Jardine of St David’s and Jeppe’s Kgaudise Molefe also have SA U19 experience.
A and B teams in the U19, U17 and U15 age groups were announced at the end of a week of trials. Players from three schools – KES, Jeppe and Queens High School – dominate the selections, as they have 11 players each in the six sides announced, with nine players from St Stithians.
Gauteng won the main game at the Khaya Majola Week last year and have been the top side in four of the last five years – Northerns won the ‘final’ in 2016 – so this team has a hard act to follow.
